The Complete Guide to the 45th Annual Great Canadian Race Weekend

45th Annual Great Canadian Race Weekend, Delaware Speedway, September 25-26, 2026, backing car number 21
The 45th Annual Great Canadian Race Weekend ran September 25–26, 2026 at Delaware Speedway. We’re proud to back car #21.
2026 results
  • Jake Sheridan (#52) won the Castrol Great Canadian 300. The win clinched the 2026 APC United Late Model Series championship and the NTN Triple Crown.
  • Logan White (#21) started 23rd and finished 10th in a 29-car field.
  • Congratulations to Connor Pritiko (#19). He won the Dayco Super Stock 75 earlier that night, then finished second in the 300, less than a second behind Sheridan. A win in both races would have paid him a $10,000 bonus.
  • We’re wishing Brady Smith (#39) a speedy recovery after his crash in the 300. His family shared that he has a road to recovery ahead but will be okay. They also thanked the Delaware Speedway safety crew for their quick response. Fans can send their support on his Facebook page.

LIVING IN LONDON · MOTORSPORTS · SEPTEMBER 25-26, 2026

Heads up: Delaware Speedway has released the race-day itineraries. Friday Schedule (Teams and Public) and Saturday Schedule (Teams and Public).

THE SHORT VERSION

  • The 45th Annual Great Canadian Race Weekend ran September 25–26, 2026 at Delaware Speedway, 1640 Gideon Dr, Delaware, Ontario — 15 minutes west of London.
  • Five championship races across two nights, headlined by Saturday’s $90,000 Castrol 300 — the APC Late Model Series finale, and the race car #21 runs.
  • Friday tickets from $21.78, Saturday from $43.51, weekend pass from $54.43 (adult, online, before tax).
  • Camping and tickets: book online — advance tickets are discounted.

That’s the weekend in four lines. Here’s why it matters so much to us, though — we’re racing in it.

Car #21 is driven by Logan White of Ingersoll — a kid I watched come up through Delaware Speedway’s Junior Racing League alongside my own son, Brent. Logan was 10, Brent was 9. A decade later, Logan’s driving a full-size Late Model, and Brent’s up in the spotters’ stand at the top of the grandstand, calling his line.

In the pits with them: Scott White (Logan’s dad and the car’s owner), Kaedyn Grubb (Logan’s girlfriend), Mackenzie Duwyn, Jeff White, my nephew Jayden Myers, and me.

Cheering Section: Debbie White (Logan’s mom), Darren Porter, Gerry Koyle (Grandpa).

One thing worth being straight about, because it would be easy to imply otherwise: we are not in the APC championship fight. Logan’s season was Delaware’s own weekly Port City Racecars Pro Late Model Series, and it already finished on September 18th. Saturday’s Castrol 300 is the APC series’ final race, and the APC title gets settled there — but the race itself is open to any Pro Late Model car built to APC’s rules. That is how car #21 gets a start in it.

If it weren’t for the businesses backing this car and this weekend, none of us would be racing. This guide is our way of thanking every one of them — and asking you to do the same. They’ve shown up for us all season; the least we can do is show up for them too.

And here’s everything else you need to plan your weekend at Delaware — real ticket prices, camping, history, every division — on one page, sourced straight from Delaware Speedway, the APC Late Model Series, and race reporting across the 2026 season.

The history behind the Great Canadian Race Weekend

Delaware Speedway has been running cars since 1952 — first as a dirt track, paved in 1960, expanded to its current half-mile oval in 1969. It sits in a natural amphitheatre beside the Thames River between the towns of Delaware and Komoka, about 15 minutes west of London, and it’s Canada’s longest continuously operating asphalt track. It’s the acknowledged birthplace of CASCAR (1986–2005) and was the first Canadian track admitted to NASCAR’s Weekly Series, in 2004.

The Great Canadian Race itself came later: the first one ran in 1981, won by Don Biederman. Forty-four consecutive years on, its champions’ list includes Hanley, Ross, Robblee, Leslie, Gibbons, and Fitzpatrick. Every division racing this weekend runs under one umbrella, the United Racing Series, formed in 2015 alongside the APC Late Model Series. Delaware’s own promotion is calling this year’s field the biggest car count of the season, across every division — this is the weekend the whole region shows up for.

All prices online, before tax and fees. Full schedule, tickets, and camping: delawarespeedway.com/schedule. Delaware’s own account is telling fans camping is selling out fast, so don’t wait if you want a site. Saturday also brings live music between races — Delaware has Crack The Whip playing through the day — plus giveaways and merch discounts at the on-site booth — Delaware’s promoting it as a full weekend, not just a race night.

Friday night: Bone Stock, Hot Rod, and Modified

Bone Stock 40

Presented by Liftow Toyota Material Handling — Canada’s largest authorized Toyota forklift dealer, and a returning sponsor for 2026. Front-wheel-drive 4-cylinder compacts capped at 180 horsepower, with a genuinely fun rule: any competitor can “claim” a rival’s car for $2,000.

Standings: 2025 champion Donavin Clark. This season’s active winners: Charlie Verhoeven, Paul Fothergill (two wins), and Michael Verberne, who took the most recent Delaware feature on September 14.
Good to know: the division launched in 2011 and drew 30 cars on its debut night — still the biggest single-day division growth in track history.

OSCAAR Hot Rod

Officially “The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive Ltd.” Vintage-bodied cars (Studebakers, Tri-Five Chevrolets, Camaros, Mustangs) on modern racing components — a class OSCAAR launched in 2017.

Standings: Thomas Wunsch and Jacob Booth are tied for the points lead at 268, with defending five-time champion Tyler Hawn close behind at 259.
Good to know: Hawn’s last title was crowned at this exact event last year — this division’s championship gets decided here.

OSCAAR Modified

Presented by Overkill Enterprises. Open-wheel cars making roughly 450 horsepower — a different animal from Hot Rod’s full-bodied vintage look. OSCAAR itself (the Ontario Stock Car Association of Asphalt Racers) has sanctioned racing since 1990.

Standings: as of this week’s Sauble Speedway race, Dale Reinhart and Rick Burbridge are tied atop the standings at 210 points, with defending champion Steve Trendell just behind at 207.
Good to know: unlike Hot Rod, this title likely won’t be decided at Delaware — more Modified races follow in October at Flamboro and Peterborough.

Saturday: the Castrol 300, Dayco Super Stock, and the NTN BCA Triple Crown

The Castrol 300 is Saturday’s marquee — a 300-lap race and the APC Late Model Series season finale, paying a record $90,000 purse — $15,000 to the winner, $2,000 just to start. The race is open to any Pro Late Model car running to APC’s rules, not only to series regulars — which is how car #21 gets a start.

The championship implications

This race decides two things at once.

APC Late Model Series title: Josh Stade is the defending champion, having beaten Jake Sheridan by just 6 points in 2025 — the tightest possible margin. Sheridan enters Saturday as this year’s points leader, making this a genuine rematch.
NTN BCA Triple Crown: scored across three 2026 races — Peterborough Speedway (June 13), Sauble Speedway (August 1), and this Delaware finale. Sheridan already won the Sauble leg.
Also racing: Delaware’s own weekly track champion, Jessie Kennedy, crowned this year after Friday night’s regular-season finale — a separate, house-level title from the touring-series race Stade and Sheridan are fighting over.

Dayco Super Stock 75

Runs alongside the Castrol 300, paying a $20,000 purse, $5,000 to win and $350 to start — win both races the same day and take home an extra $10,000. Dayco itself is a century-old American manufacturer of automotive belts and hoses; the series carried the “Qwick Wick” name in 2023 before rebranding to Dayco in 2024.

Standings: a London-based team, JRD Motorsports (driver Ryan Dyson, car #28), has spent much of 2026 at or near the points lead.
Past champions: Carson Nagy (2023, 2024) and Lane Zardo (2025).

The sponsors behind car #21

None of this happens without the businesses that back this car. Here’s every one of them — starting in Logan’s hometown of Ingersoll, through London, and out to where the parts and the chassis actually come from.

And last but not least — not a sponsor, but the track that makes all of this possible:

Bottom line

One thing I still couldn’t verify: streaming for this specific race. Racing America holds the APC Late Model Series broadcast rights generally — check racingamerica.tv closer to the date. Everything else in this guide was sourced and dated to race week, including the Triple Crown mechanics and the Stade-vs-Sheridan title fight.
